Kickass and Youthful Acts

Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes, along with the keeper, a spate of recent public claims from older citizens showing that they can still do some of the “fun” things they did in their youth. The 106-year-old swimmer diving off the stern of a boat is an example as was the 94-year-old lady zip-line rider. And then there is the memory of former POTUS George Bush skydiving in his mid 80’s.

The keeper at his advanced age of—oh, never mind, think Model A Ford—clings to the battered remnants of his youth by demonstrating to Phyllis how he can still eat like a farmhand while complaining to her about gaining weight.

Phillis’s advice is for the keeper to either jump off the scale or zip-line away from the table.

On a recent day the keeper demonstrated his youthful agility by exiting his recliner while holding an empty dessert dish.

It wasn’t that easy but he did it and he is proud of himself.
