Kickass, the doorstop dog, allows the keeper this opportunity to warn those who exposed themselves to the current northern lights display that they may have inadvertently absorbed “meme” rays which causes them to boast insufferably about their spectacular view of the aurora borealis while flashing endless photo evidence.
This “meme” ray exposure also effects such things as morel hunting whereby successful hunters are compelled to brag and show photos of countless giant morels.
The keeper’s authority for issuing the “meme” ray warning rests in yet another season of failure in his morel hunting, and the fact that when he and Phyllis drove out of town on a resent dark night and parked, facing north, on the top of a high hill, a heavy cloud cover obscured everything, including the moon.
Acknowledging the risk of absorbing “meme” rays, should the cloud cover lift, they drove home and went to bed.
