Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper is taking a new tack is his efforts to keep a small flock of chickens on the balcony of the Vista West apartment he shares with Phyllis.
Finding a lack of enthusiasm on the part of VW management, the keeper in typical human arrogant style, will henceforth consider the daily patrolling seagulls as his personal poultry flock.
It is fitting perhaps that with a dog—Kickass, that he does not have to walk, the keeper would be comfortable with poultry he does not have to feed or otherwise tend to.
That the gulls, observing the dire fates of other “poultry” birds—chickens and turkeys for example, may be less than cooperative in the keeper’s scheme, is only a temporary obstacle.
The keeper sees the day when roast seagull is the centerpiece for April feasts and seagull eggs are considered rare culinary fare in the class with black truffles.
In the meantime, he will assure Phyllis that he will probably be okay once we get through the contrary April weather and the patrolling seagulls are replaced by crows, black crows to go with the black truffles.
