Kickass, the doorstop dog, passes along the observation from the keeper that he will be spending the day watching for the European Space Agency’s used up satellite to crash into the earth and mostly burn up in the atmosphere, with the chances being 1 in 100 billion that a piece of debris might actually hit the keeper or Phyllis or anybody out walking their dog or just enjoying the unseasonably warm weather.
The keeper’s attention was drawn to the crashing satellite when it was described in a news story as “weighing as much as an adult male rhinoceros.”
As an old veteran of the “word” world, the keeper loves the writer who came up with that weight analogy and thanks him or her for making it possible for the keeper and Phyllis to get out and enjoy the nice weather today while watching for an “adult male rhinoceros” to fall out of the sky, with maybe a piece of it hitting one of them. The odds are slim, but so are the odds of a 50 degree temperature in February.
