Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes the keeper using his chest cold to excuse his not participating in the “polar plunge” that has become part of the Winter Solstice celebration in his former Mazomanie neighborhood.
As the big bonfire blazes, it has been the custom for celebrants to jump into the frigid water of nearby Black Earth creek in the “Polar Plunge” and the keeper was gratified to learn that among the several representing his clan last night, eight-year-old Romy joined her father Steve in the plunge observance.
Way to go, Romy, and Steve and all the rest of you! The keeper is proud of you for representing the clan on such a momentous occasion, and if Phyllis had allowed it he would have been there with you.
