Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that every morning the keeper has a conversation with his mother:
KEEPER: “Thanks, Mom, for teaching me how to tie my shoes.”
MOM: “You’re welcome, Billy. Have a nice day!”
The “mom” conversation is the reason the keeper sticks with laces over Velcro or slip-ons even as his feet somehow get farther away and tougher to reach.
Sometimes if the daily “Mom” conversation shows indications of advancing into areas beyond shoelaces, such as personal behavior, the keeper lies to Mom and tells her he is late for an appointment and doesn’t have time to listen to her.
Some things never change, right, Mom!
See you tomorrow morning!
