Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper and Phyllis took their book-show to the Middleton Senior Center Thursday where the keeper had a nice visit with a modest assembly of those in his age group, telling them of some of his column-writing adventures in “Treeson: an APOLOGIA to Trees” for the pulp wood used to print his drivel; talked about “Margaret’s War,” his novel set at the end of WWII when there were thousands of German POWs in the state; and mentioned “Kickass The Doorstop Dog (almost daily) 2022” a year’s worth of the keeper’s blog as it appears on Facebook and his website–billstokesauthor.com.
Should any of the preceding be seen as blatant commercialization in the interests of soothing the keeper’s writer’s ego, that is exactly what it is: a writer needs readers as a fish needs water.
Most of the keeper’s books—there are a half dozen or so, are available on Amazon for $15 or through him at the bargain price of $10 plus $4 postage or come and pick a book up personally and share a libation.
The daily “Kickass,” on Facebook of course, is free and worth every penny.
