Kickass, the doorstop dog, labels the keeper a “lucky dog” in that he was on hand when Phyllis’s granddaughters–Alexis and Taylor paid her an overnight visit.
Alexis brought along her dog Kai so the keeper would have a conversation companion as Phyllis and Alexis and Taylor reminisced about some of the many wonderful experiences they shared, starting in toddler years, at the zoo and in parks, and including month-long camping across the country as teenagers and much more.
There were a number of take-aways for the keeper:
* Phyllis was and is one-heckuva grandma.
* Alexis–a firefighter and paramedic, and Taylor–a super food tech, also trained as an EMT, are appreciative granddaughters and ambitious young women who represent the best hope of the future in a chaotic world.
*The granddaughter’s father Todd is justifiably proud of them.
*Living with “Grandma” is never dull and is sometimes downright exciting, such as when her granddaughters visit.
* It is possible to eavesdrop and talk to a dog at the same time.
