Kickass, the doorstop dog, compliments the keeper on his cheapness in contributing to Phyllis’s Mother’s Day by taking her to flowers instead of buying her a bouquet.
Meeting her family at the spectacular Trillium display at Wood County’s Bluff Park and finding Marsh Marigolds in a nearby ditch made the day for Phyllis. One might even say she “wallowed” in it with her camera, at one point toppling briefly down a damp, grassy embankment while stalking a cluster of Marigolds.
No harm was done, even in the keeper’s fumbling attempt at rescue.
Wallowing in Spring at this point is, in fact, a wonderful thing to do; and, other than the cost of gas, it is also cheap. Just ask the keeper.
