Kickass, the doorstop dog, listens to the keeper’s observation that while grandchildren do not stay cute and cuddly very long but instead become adults with all the baggage that goes with that, they still remain objects of love and descendants to be proud of.
Meet Bud and Beau, the sons of the keeper’s only daughter Pat who left us all too abruptly a couple of years ago.
In addition to Bud and Beau, the keeper has a gang of outstanding grown-up grandchildren who are producing an unbelievable generation of the highest quality great-grandchildren. Phyllis enjoys a similar grandchild/great grandchild lot.
It is special when a grandchild visits, and so it was when Bud was an overnight guest, and he and the keeper went long into the night discussing Bud’s passion and accomplishments.
His mother would be proud, and so is the keeper.
Grandchildren, even old ones, are wonderful.
More of them need to visit more often.
