Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports the keeper sipping from his first cup of coffee on a rainy January morning, sniffing with the dregs of a stubborn cold, but generally feeling smug about his good fortune in having accidentally migrated far enough south from his northern Wisconsin birthplace to see January rain instead of snow.
The rainy MLK holiday lies out there to be coffee-toasted to King, of course, but also to the “delete” control that eliminates media messages about foreign royalty, celebrity romances, Repub stupidity, Kardashians, Mar a lago and Texas.
With that filtering in place, the view through the rain-splattered window on Jan 16, 2023 is one of bright sunshine: the keeper is here and so is Phyllis!
