Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes that while the keeper was a professional storyteller for decades, he found himself at a disadvantage recently in a storytelling session with Tyler and Trevor, a couple of very young great grandsons.
It was one of those rare and wonderful occasions of intimate bonding between generations, with Tyler, Trevor and the keeper taking orderly turns with story telling; but the action bogged down when the keeper did not know why the chicken crossed the road or what the cow said to the moon, and did not have stories of that genre of his own.
It is possible that the keeper came off as pretty dull storytelling company, but he vows to Tyler and Trevor that he will brush up on chicken and cow stories, because that story-telling session with them was one of the highlights of the recent holiday and it begs to be repeated.
