Kickass, the doorstop dog, witnessed the keeper’s clan gathered like the river rats that they are enjoying one last Thanksgiving event at Andy and Ohm’s riverbank camp, consuming not one but two turkeys cooked by Kim and Mike and dodging campfire smoke to update misdeeds and malarkey on a beautiful late autumn day.
In keeping with river rat innovation, Andy and Scott loaded kids into an unrepairable canoe and pulled it behind a vehicle through the wooded trails to delighted squeals and laughter.
A good time was had by all, and the keeper and Phyllis regret declining an invitation to join the kids in the canoe. Next time.
