Kickass, the doorstop dog, was an innocent spectator as the scrabble game see-sawed back and forth with first the keeper in the lead only to fall behind as Phyllis used six tiles in a word that required rule-book justification.
The game went down to the very last tile and was won by one point by Phyllis, causing the keeper to think he would fire his coach if he had one.
This “sporting” event is reported here with the message that it is better to participate than to spectate, but if anyone would like to come over and watch the keeper and Phyllis play scrabble, they are more than welcome to do so.
