Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes that he will be joining the keeper on this official Auction Day by imagining that they are on the Titanic, it is colder than hell out on the deck, the band is playing “Nearer my God to Thee,” and half the crew is in mutiny and insisting on turning the ship toward the iceberg which they say is actually a big tax-free diamond. Though like all icebergs it is nine tenths underwater, the iceberg looks like the great white whale to most of the passengers who are assembling at the lifeboats where a mutiny crew member shouts, “Rich white guys first, women and children last!”
