Kickass, the doorstop dog, shares good vibes with the keeper regarding trees, and notes that he–the keeper is in a final draft of his book “Treeson” which is an apology to all the trees that went into making the paper to print his drivel. “Treeson” uses some of the keeper’s old stories to revisit many remembered haunts ranging from the Delta Queen with Jimmy and Roselynn to 30 below zero in a Red Cliff deer yard.
Recounting the 35 years of depending on trees as part of communicating back when newspapers mattered, has left the keeper pretty much drained, or perhaps as illustrated in a post by Daniel Hein “half dead” in the manner of trees.
The difficult mechanics of publishing loom now and the keeper wonders how he will fare now that he is obviously losing his leaves and going into a serious winter mode?
