Kickass and Weight Guessing

Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper was pawing through a box of yellowed clips from fifty or so years ago, and ran across one in which he–the keeper joined Bob Cleven at the 1974 Janesville  4-H fair at Bob’s “guess your weight or age” midway stand.

The clipping recounts the keeper’s experience of guessing a woman’s weight at 221 while Bob guesses her at 255.  She weighed 270, and the clipping reads, “She stalks over to pick up her prize as if she had just been named a beauty queen.”

He doesn’t know about Bob, but the keeper has been long out of the weight guessing business, particularly as it pertains to women.

Guessing age! Now that’s another thing. The keeper recently shared a Vista West elevator with a woman whose age he would guess–only to himself of course, to be comparable to his own which goes back to hand-cranked automobiles. He discovered later that the woman was ten years older than the keeper, which made him feel young and wishing he could go back to the Janesville 4-H fair and have some more fun guessing weights and ages with Bob Cleven.
