Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in having no doubt that the creation story clearly designates Sunday as a day of rest, but is less clear about just what to do about Saturday, it being the day when Adam and Eve were created to have domination over all the birds and animals.
Other than taking the dog for a walk, just what Saturday activity is appropriate to the Genesis account of exercising domination over the animals? And where does it say that “domination” includes collecting the animal’s waste in a plastic bag, or in emptying a cat’s litter box?
The keeper does not have a dog or a cat, but if he did, he would demonstrate his dominance by starting Sunday’s “rest” directive early and sharing the couch for Saturday naps.
Phyllis would agree, if there is one thing the keeper understands it is “rest”–any day of the week and especially on Saturday.
