Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper happened to see parking lot action involving fellow Vista West resident Ron and two young women that he—the keeper did not understand at the time to be a final hand-off. Later he shared an elevator ride with Ron who commented matter-of-factly that he no longer had a dog to go home to, his small brown fuzzy “Bear” having succumbed this very day to a digestive malady.
