Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper and Phyllis considered the history of it, and then did their own interpretation of the Toco Beach Steel Pan performance at the East Side Club grounds on the Lake Monona shore Sunday afternoon.
The delightful sound, with its background of drumming slaves trying to communicate their Trinidad fate, echoed across Lake Monona to the Capital where narcissistic minority “masters” hold a citizenry enslaved in gerrymandered shackles.
If, as the keeper has it, the only recourse left to oppose the current political absurdity is to pound on something, it might better be done by the Toco Beach Steel Pan performers.
