Kickass gets lazy and uses last year’s post, remembering his privileged moments with the Carters and wanting to be that young again!
Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the keeper is undecided about just where to direct his attention: the space race between the two billionaires, the Florida residents in the unstable apartment buildings, bear hounds rampaging through the north woods, the inane Texas legislature, the price of gasoline or how narcissistic Repubs are enacting their plan to win elections by eliminating voters.
Since there doesn’t seem to be anything he can do about any of it, the keeper will be focusing his energy on improving the quality of Phyllis’s life by accompanying her to interesting places and seeing to it that she has access to good wine. Starting these efforts along the Mississippi River seems like a brilliant move to the keeper and allows him to remember when he spent three days on the Delta Queen with President Jimmy Carter and Roselynn, who are now celebrating a 75th anniversary.
