Kickass the doorstop dog, notes the serious nature of the Keeper and Phyllis’s hunt for glaciers and mountains as they end up on top of 800 foot thick Athabasca glacier in Alberta’s Jasper National Park after a ride in a monstrous vehicle especially designed to traverse glaciers.
Standing on a giant river and slowly moving blue ice I made towering snow capped Canadian Rockies is impressive to the Keeper and Phyllis with their “driftless” backgrounds.
The Canadians go to great lengths though, to entertain their “nature seeking guests”, even suspending them hundreds of feet out over a river gorge on a glass walkway. Phyllis handled it well, but the Keeper who suffers agoraphobia on a kitchen chair, “hung tightly to the railing” and did not look down.
