Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in noting a couple of clan eye-openers this week, one being the first views of the world for Blaize Betty Russell who arrived just in time for Sunny and Kyle to celebrate Mother’s Day; and the other being the keeper’s reverse-Botox eyebrow surgery to improve his “from-under-the-bed” view of things.
Moving past the obvious of the keeper having a too-fat head—at least forehead, to the irresistible opportunity to have a little chat with Blaize as she opens her eyes to things that the keeper has been seeing for, oh, never mind how many years:
“Blaize, honey, just for now, do not try to see anything beyond your mom and dad; You will view them as beautiful, of course, especially your mother, and maybe even your bearded father.
“Quit frankly, Blaize, from here on out, there may seem to be a downward trajectory to the things you will see—limitless trials and tribulations and unimaginable cruelty; but you must not let such negative scenery prevent your eyes from taking in all that makes life beautiful and worth living.
“The keeper, with his world-weary field of vision surgically improved, is living proof that sorting through the things you see is the only way to go; and despite having viewed recent media war horrors, he plans to draw Phyllis’s attention to the beauty of the golden sunrise on this May 7, 2022.
“It promises to be a great day, Blaize, and it is good to see you here to enjoy it with the rest of us.”
