Kickass and the Trees

Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in noting the trees, huddled now in late April on the hills in skeletal nudity, but beginning to offer tender buds to buy the leafy/lace green gowns to take them dancing extravagantly through the long prom of summer.

Once the trees are so gloriously gowned, they will form the privacy curtain behind which all manner of sexual machinations of countless species goes on until, finally, the intense cycles of reproduction are completed and celebrated with the prom’s colorful grand march of autumn.

Now the keeper and his ilk wait for the trees to cycle out of their vulnerable nudity and into their exquisitely dressed dominance of the summer dance.

It is with the greatest anticipation that the keeper and Phyllis and everyone else now check their seasonal programs to make sure they include lots of dances with trees.
