Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper was reassured that his clan has survived the Covid calamity by an impromptu gathering instigated by son Mike who cooked a big pot roast and announced late in the day, that it would be consumed at Becky and Beau’s, though Becky and Beau had not yet been informed of that plan.
As usual, everyone, especially Becky and Beau, rose to the occasion and a great time was had by all, particularly the keeper and Phyllis who got the first crack at Mike’s pot roast and Becky’s gravy along with the tasty fresh salad from her greenhouse.
It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up on the backlog of clan news, to marvel anew at the weed-like growth of the young members, and to appreciate being on the notification list when Mike next cooks up some culinary feast and announces just where it will be eaten—maybe at the keeper and Phyllis’s place: they are ready.
