Kickass, the doorstop dog, does not often get the opportunity to pass along the kind of great news that dominates this day for the keeper and Phyllis as they absorb yesterday’s report from the UW Carbone Cancer center’s Dr. Bradley that after two years of various treatment regimens, Phyllis shows “NED”—No Evidence of Disease!
From the circumstance of 4th stage disease with extensive lymph node involvement, along with dire predictions, to the current incredibly positive report, this all speaks to many things: Carbone’s unlimited coordination and innovation in helping people battle the invasion of Cancer; and Phyllis’s indomitable spirt and energy in taking charge of her own personal battle.
Today, Phyllis plans a champagne celebratory event with friends at Vista West.
The keeper will be pouring–and purring as he proudly celebrates sharing his life with a most remarkable woman.
