Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper will drive Phyllis to a covid testing site today as part of her preparation for a medical procedure, and it is but a short leap to imagine that he is driving her to pick up a weapon so she can go off to join the Ukrainians in defending themselves from the unspeakable Putin attacks.
Phyllis’s ancestral record includes a migration from a Ukraine area to Canada made in the interests of freedom; and as a long-time dedicated mother, she is a striking example of history’s mothers who suffer from the painful ignorance and absurd ambitions of the World’s narcissistic Putins as they–the mothers, send their sons off to die; and worse, as today in Ukraine–to pick up the mangled bodies of their children in artillery-wrecked living rooms and playgrounds.
Today! In a modern, enlightened city like the ones where the keeper and Phyllis and millions of others live.
