Kickass, the doorstop dog, encourages the keeper to avoid dwelling on endings and to concentrate on beginnings, and so it was most welcome to see a public message welcoming Phyllis’s granddaughter Alexis to the Marshfield Fire Department.
Alexis has been building EMT experience with other agencies, and recently resumed her role as goalie on a women’s hockey team. She is an enthusiastic agent of life in its exciting beginnings, and the keeper and Phyllis are proud to welcome her and her father Todd for a visit, along with dogs Ava and Kai. Alexis’s sister Taylor, an enthusiastic “beginning” Madison resident, will be invited.
There will be a party, and the keeper, as usual will beg Phyllis’s indulgence to give a short speech, about beginnings—his, of course!
