Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper, as one of the greatest time wasters of all time, managed to redeem himself briefly as he assisted Phyllis in installing a display of her photo-art in the gallery at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Middleton where it will be exhibited for the next month or so.
As impressive as the display of Phyllis’s work is, it pales in comparison to the woman herself: A month out from hip replacement surgery, and undergoing treatment for a major disease, suffering arthritic knee pain, preparing for a move to different living quarters, keeping tabs on a burgeoning family, riding herd on the keeper’s computer incompetence, regularly cooking up creative batches of soup, staying abreast of political outrageousness and commenting thereon, and working her creative magic to produce yet more prize-winning art work, Phyllis is a marvel!
And the keeper marvels at her on a daily basis, and wonders how he got so lucky as to have her in his life—to put some constraints on his time-wasting, and to make that delicious soup.
