Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper and Phyllis will be taking their show on the road with a brief tour of Mississippi River environs in the Lacrosse area, with no more serious purpose than to check out the incredible Mayfly hatch, take a river cruise, and soak in the hotel swimming pool.
The keeper will, however, remain vigilant in watching for “Big Fool” specimens lurking in the backwater. When they are spotted, it is the keeper’s plan to have them sprayed them with yellow paint, and to see that “Jan. 6” is tattooed on their foreheads and buttocks.
Abandoning daily routines and more or less running away is, of course, more easily done by those in the keeper’s age group, and it is something he and Phyllis plan to develop as an artform, throwing in visits to wineries and an occasional stop near a trout stream.
Getting old is not all bad, Kickass says, as he heads for sunny spot to take a nap.
