Kickass, the doorstop dog, watches as the keeper applies the Republican version of truth to his bird feeding efforts by identifying visiting starlings as orioles, sparrows as goldfinches, and chickadees as eagles.
Though he can see with his own eyes what plainly plumed birds are visiting his balcony feeders, the keeper sees no good reason to accept them for what they are.
Early this morning, a Passenger Pigeon stopped by briefly, and a Dodo bird flew past in a formation of pelicans. The keeper is expecting a pterodactyl to arrive at any second.
And so it goes by Republican avian interpretation, as robins loudly sing, “Fear up! Fear up!” and rich cow birds continue to lay ostrich-sized eggs in all the other common birds’ nests.
(Kickass thinks maybe the keeper needs therapy beyond his self-medicated Korbel.)
