Kickass and the NFL Draft

By Bill Stokes

Kickass, the doorstop dog, anxiously assists the keeper in correcting the assumption that he—the keeper, has been drafted to play cornerback for the Green Bay Packers: That was Eric Stokes, not keeper “Bill” Stokes, and while the keeper would be willing to give it a go, if drafted, he is pretty sure that is not going to happen.

Eric’s stats show that he does the 40 yard dash in 4.29 seconds, while the keeper would likely time out on the 40 at thirty minutes or so, depending on who he meets along the way, defenders, as it were.

Mistaking the keeper for a physically prime pro athlete is quite understandable, in his estimation, and those who do so should not be embarrassed. After all, Phyllis sees him as a “starter,” and she is one smart lady!
